Welcome to Global Job Scanner. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you visit our website and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you:

  • Identity Data: first name, last name, username or similar identifier.
  • Contact Data: email address.
  • Technical Data: IP address, login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
  • Usage Data: information about how you use our website, products and services, including search queries and saved jobs.
  • Subscription Data: your current plan tier and subscription status.

3. Free Tools — Resume Scanner & ATS Score

Our free tools (ATS Resume Scanner, Resume ATS Score, Cold Email Generator, LinkedIn Headline Generator) process text you paste into them.

  • No storage: Resume and job description text you submit to these tools is processed entirely in-memory on our servers and is never written to a database or log file. It is discarded immediately after the response is returned.
  • No AI training: We do not use your resume or any text you submit to these tools to train AI or machine learning models.
  • No third-party sharing: Text submitted to these tools is not shared with any third party.

Because no personal data from these tools is retained, GDPR data subject rights related to erasure or portability do not apply to tool submissions — there is simply nothing to erase or export.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to provide the Global Job Scanner service, including:

  • To register you as a new customer and manage your account.
  • To manage your subscription plan and associated feature limits.
  • To enable you to save jobs and track applications.
  • To improve our website, products, and services.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data (email, name): Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a verified account deletion request.
  • Saved jobs and application tracking data: Retained until you delete individual entries or close your account.
  • Usage/search data: Aggregated usage counters (e.g. monthly search count) are reset monthly and not stored beyond the current billing period.
  • Tool input data (resumes, job descriptions): Not retained — see Section 3 above.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with the following sub-processors who may handle your personal data on our behalf:

  • Supabase (database & authentication infrastructure) — your account data and saved jobs are stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. Data may be stored in the US or EU depending on your region settings.
  • RapidAPI / JSearch (job listing data) — when you perform a job search, your search query and selected country are sent to the JSearch API. No personally identifiable information beyond the search query is transmitted.
  • Resend (transactional email) — used to send authentication magic links. Your email address is passed to Resend solely to deliver the email.
  • Google OAuth — if you sign in with Google, Google authenticates you and shares your name and email address with us per their OAuth flow. We do not receive your Google password.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Right to data portability: Request an export of your saved jobs in CSV format.
  • Right to restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to object: Object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • CCPA (California): California residents have the right to know what personal data is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data.

8. Cookies

We use session cookies strictly necessary for authentication (NextAuth.js session cookie). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics cookies are set.

9. Third-Party Links

Our service contains links to external job boards and third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of every site you visit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
